Character Opportunities

  • Listening to and researching a wide variety of musical genres in the quest to become a better musician
  • Finding out about the rules and conventions used in music to help you explore composition
 
  • Regularly attending your instrumental lessons and practising regularly. 
  • Attending extra- curricular activities and intervention classes.
  • Work hard to produce and develop musical ideas when composing.  Know when to accept and reject ideas.
  • Having a can do attitude in all aspects of the musical curriculum.  Being able to say I can’t do this yet but will be able to.  Doing everything in your power to improve your skills rather than give in.
  • Developing your independence in all aspect of the music curriculum, concentrate and remain on task in extended practical situations using your time wisely to develop your work.
  • Be accepting of different student’s interest in a variety of musical genres.  Working cooperatively with different groups of students with varying interests.  Getting on well with students for the benefit of the music being produced.

  • Understanding that your work within a group setting can impact upon the progress that group makes.  Acting accordingly in the knowledge of this.

  • Working cooperatively with other musicians to create music.  Giving helpful and constructive feedback
  • Taking on board constructive criticism with an active desire to use this information to become a better performer / composer
